The Newport is the epitome of simplicity; this mantel is made of medium density fiberboard, often known as MDF, and is suitable for any room. MDF (medium density fiberboard) is a composite wood that is extensively used in furniture, cabinetry, shelving, and decorative moldings. As proof that you have got an authentic Pearl Mantel, look for the pearl inlay on the right hand side of the shelf. Only paint grade is available. It comes painted white and ready to hang, or you can sand and prime it and paint it any color you choose.
